ዳዐት ተቡኖት

ዳዐት ተቡኖት — ማሕሻባ በBeth HaMidrash ላይ፦ የዕብራይስጥ ጽሑፍና የአማርኛ ትርጉሙ፣ ከራሺና ከታላላቆቹ ተንታኞች ጋር። ነጻ፣ በመስመር ላይ።

אמרה הנשמה – תאותי ורצוני להתישב על קצת דברים מאותם שנאמר בהם (דברים ד, לט), "והשבות אל לבבך כי ה' הוא האלהים", הרי הם מעיקרי אמונתנו שחייב כל האדם לרדוף אחרי ידיעתם, כל אשר תשיג ידו:Said the Soul - My desire and will is to become settled regarding some items from among those about which it is said (Deuteronomy 4:39) "...and lay upon your heart that HaShem is the G-d...", behold they are among the essentials of our faith that every man must seek after knowing them, to the degree that he can grasp:ּ

אמר השכל – אנה פניך מועדות? הנה העיקרים הם י"ג, ועל איזה מהם תרצי להתבונן?Said the Intellect - Where does your face stumble? Behold, the Essentials are 13, and which of them do you wish to examine?

אמרה הנשמה – הנה כל העיקרים הי"ג הנה הם מאומתים אצלי בלי שום ספק כלל; אבל יש מהם שהם מאומתים לי וגם מובנים, ויש מהם שהם מאומתים לי באמונה, אך לא מבוארים מן ההבנה והידיעה:Said the Soul - Behold all the 13 Essentials are believed by me without any doubt at all; but there are those among them that are believed by me and also understood, and there are those among them that are believed by me with faith, but not clear through understanding and knowledge.

אמר השכל – איזה מאומתים לך, ואיזה מבוארים לך?Said the Intellect - Which are believed [on faith] and which are clear to you?

אמרה הנשמה – הנה מציאות ה', יחודו, נצחיותו, והיותו חוץ מן הגוף וכל מקרי גוף, חידוש העולם, נבואה, נבואת משה, תורה מן השמים ונצחיותה שלא תשתנה - כל הדברים האלה אני מאמנת ואני מבינתם, ואיני צריכה בהם ביאור; אבל ההשגחה, שכר ועונש, ביאת המשיח ותחיית המתים - מאמנת אני ודאי מפני חובת הדת, אבל הייתי חפצה לסבור בהם סברא שאשקוט בה:Said the Soul - Behold: HaShem's existence, his singularity, his eternal nature, his existence without a body or any physical form, the innovation of the Universe, prophecy, the prophecy of Moshe, that Torah is from the heavens and is eternal and will not change - all of these matters I believe in and I understand them, and I do not need explanation of them; but [HaShem's] Providence, Reward and Punishment, the Coming of the Savior [Mashiach], and Resurrection of the Dead - I believe in them with certainty because of the obligation of religion, but I want to explain them with an logical explanation that will settle me:
